We Believe

The earth and everything in it belongs to God (Gen. 1, Ps. 24:1). That includes us, our resources, and even the breath in our lungs. Everything we have is a gift from Him (James 1:17).


At Vineyard Cincinnati, we see generosity not as an obligation, but as a joyful response. When we live as managers — not owners — of God’s resources, our lives align with His design and we experience freedom, purpose, and joy.

Every time we give, we declare our trust that God is good and that His promises are true (Matt. 6:19–34).


We don’t give because of circumstances or personal preferences. We give because generosity honors God, keeps our hearts focused on Him, and reminds us that money doesn’t rule us — Jesus does (Matt. 6:19–24). Giving moves us closer to God and opens the door for Him to shape our hearts.

From Genesis to Jesus’ own teaching, Scripture affirms the tithe — giving the first 10% — as a foundation for generosity (Gen. 14:20; Luke 11:42). For us, that means bringing our first and best to the local church, where God is at work changing lives.


Tithing isn’t about a rule to follow; it’s about devotion to Jesus and His mission. God promises blessing when we trust Him in this way (Mal. 3:10). Sometimes that blessing is financial, but more often it’s the deeper joy of experiencing more of Him.

We know generosity is a journey. Some start by giving because they believe in what Vineyard Cincinnati is doing — and that’s a great first step! But our hope is that giving grows into an act of worship and discipleship.


For some, jumping straight into a tithe isn’t possible yet, and that’s okay. We’ll walk with you. We offer financial coaching, encouragement, and practical help to build a strong foundation. Over time, as we draw closer to Jesus, many discover the joy of giving even beyond the tithe — and with it, a deeper experience of God’s presence and grace (Luke 19:1–10).
