Legacy of Hope

I’m humbled and amazed to experience all that God has been doing in and through this house. The stories He has crafted in the past are making incredible impact on our present - which is setting us up to step into a remarkable future.
Personally, I’m thrilled to get to do this together! I’m thrilled to collectively extend the things God is inviting us into. What exactly do we get to extend?
Well, to adequately understand what God’s inviting us to pass onto others, we should first recall what He’s done in our past.
As a VCC community, we have partnered with God to live out the Luke 4 mission and mandate of Jesus “to proclaim good news to the poor, to proclaim liberty to the captives, to recover sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, and to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”
And, as a result of our willingness to partner with God in this way, we’ve seen God achieve radical things in our past. Things like the launch of the Healing Center - a place where the poor can be fed, the marginalized can be built up, the oppressed can experience the presence of God.
The launch of the Student Union - a place where middle and high school aged youth can gather for Christian community, and leaned in to the call of God to help dig a clean water well in Jos, Nigeria! These were just a few of the amazing things God has accomplished through this house.
VCC chose to live out this Luke 4 mandate here, near and far away.
Today, we have the opportunity to extend what we’ve been given. We have received resurrected life to extend resurrected life. We have received generosity from our King, to extend generosity in the name of our King. We have received a Legacy of Hope, to extend a Legacy of Hope.
We have so much to give away to others because we have Jesus Christ, the hope of glory, who lives in us (Col 1:27), and He will ALWAYS be enough! So I pray that as we step into this new season together, we seek out more ways to partner with heaven. I pray we stay hungry and humble to make His name famous. I pray we continue proclaiming and demonstrating His goodness to the world here, near and far away.
For the Kingdom,
