Get to know the Gradys

Tracy Grady | December 20, 2018

Tracey Grady and her husband Greg enjoy serving on the Hospitality Team at the Vineyard. Whether they’re greeting, passing out programs or collecting the offering, the Gradys love to serve!

"I like to make everyone feel welcomed. It’s as simple as saying “good morning” or maybe giving them a compliment to put a smile on their face. The Hospitality Team has been so very kind in making us part of the team!

I feel well connected at the Vineyard. I’ve taken classes and met a lot of people along the way over the years. I was nervous about the size of the church at first and the dark sanctuary. However, I’ve met a lot of people and enjoy Rob’s sermons so much that it feels more comfortable.

Being a part of a team has helped a lot too. I just enjoy being a volunteer. It has always made me feel better to be a part of a community.

I grew up in a very Christian home. I saw my parents volunteer and be a big part of their churches my whole life. I helped with the offering as a young girl. My parents were also elders who were on committees, taught Sunday school, vacation Bible school, etc.

When I suddenly became a widow at age 46, I felt serving was a great opportunity to still be connected to church, God, and the community. By the grace of God, over the last 8 years of surviving and living again with grief, I am now a facilitator at a local organization called Companion on a Journey. They helped me so much. I never thought I would be strong enough to give back.

I believe it’s important for everyone to know: no matter what is going on in your life, you are not alone. It has been amazing to see the transformations in the lives of the bereaved. Being a part of something so much bigger than myself, and knowing that God is so close, has helped me help others. It is so important to keep spreading the word YOU ARE NOT ALONE."
