What do you love about being a Mom? Being a mom is one of the most challenging jobs in the world. Not only do you have to master a skill but you have to start over again and again which requires constant learning.
I love the random hugs and kisses, the giggles, my kids’ fiery spirits, tender hearts, and mischievous impulses. But what I love the most is that they keep me young in spirit
What do you love about serving in Hispanic Ministries Kids?
I understand that our purpose and our time on earth is to seek and serve God. Helping the children of Hispanic Ministries Kids fills my heart with joy and helps me sow the seed in their hearts.
They are the future spouses, wives, mothers, fathers, and leaders. What better way to show my children service to others? Not only with words but by example.
One of the values of our church is small things done with love will change the world. What better way to set the example than to start with me and my family?
What do you do as a family to pray or study the Bible together?
We do individual devotions and discuss it at our family dinners. There is always something new to learn from each other.
What kind of prayer do you pray the most often for your children and/or grandchildren?
To be sincere, I'm learning how to pray. I start with the strength to do what they need to do each day; courage that they will be brave as they face the challenges that are before them; peace that their hearts will be calm and peaceful as they go through their day and in their sleep at night; obedient and thankful hearts and listening ears; and that my children are filled with the love of God, know how deeply they are loved, and that love will overflow onto others.
If you could share advice with a new mom, what would that be?
Enjoy every minute with your children. The time will fly. Become a child with them and enjoy every minute. The memories you make with them will be priceless because when you least expect it they will be grown.
We were not born to know everything about being a parent so if we want to become good parents we have to learn. Parent with love, care, passion, patience, dedication and always with an open heart for the new stages of the wonderful life you've been given as a parent.
